Project Scope: The proposed system consists of an MFT Automation collating and bagging system to collate a bag of hardware as well as an instruction card and place them into a labeled bag (labeled by an MFT Automation Impresso Labeling machine) on an Autobag 500 bagging machine at a rate of up to 40 per minute. Edgewater Manufacturing will return their existing Autobag 500 machine on mobile cart along with their existing bucketed conveyor to MFT Automation to be integrated as a part of collating and bagging system. The Autobag machine is equipped with a large open funnel that allows the bagger to receive a bag of hardware from an existing Edgewater supplied bucketed conveyor as well as a leaflet from a MFT Automation MFT 250 IP3 FXED Friction Feeder system. Bags will be unwound on the Autobag machine. An MFT Automation Impresso Labeling Machine will be mounted onto a Low Toe Stand on Rollers over the web of unwound bags traveling below. A roll of labels (up to 20" in diameter) is loaded on the unwind, which gently unwinds the roll of labels with to stage them to be applied. The labeler is equipped with a brushless servo motor and with computer control to supervise the labels as they travel through the labeling machine. The labels will exit the peel plate and will be applied onto the unwound bags on the Autobag machine that are traveling below. The Impresso will be signaled to apply a label onto the bag by a Color/Contrast Sensor detecting the blue header on the bag. Next an MFT Automation 250 IP3 FXED Friction Feeder will be mounted over the Autobag 500 machine on an extruded aluminum frame (supplied by MFT Automation). The feeder will gently separate your products from a inclined stack and will transfer them onto the 375mm (14.86") long flexible discharge of the feeder. The flexible discharge is equipped with segments that are angle adjustable with respect to one another to allow the angle of the discharge to be set vertically to best transfer the cards from the feeder into the bag. A Pneumatic Shaker Assembly will be mounted onto the rear support assembly of the feeder to reduce friction between the products as they are fed and to assist with product flow. Using a Standard Interface Cable Assembly, the system PLC controller will signal the feeder to feed a card into the large open funnel on the bagging machine, the feeder in turn will send back a cycle complete signal to the PLC Controller. A Static Reduction Bar will be mounted over the discharge of the feeder to reduce static on the cards as they are transferred from the feeder into the open funnel of the bagging machine. The feeder will be configured with a remote keypad assembly to allow the controls of the feeder to be positioned in a ideal location for the operator. An MFT Automation PLC system controller will be utilized to manage the system that includes the following: 1. The PLC will communicate with the Impresso Labeling machine. If the labeler runs empty or has a fault, the system will be signaled to stop.(Stop on Error). 2. The PLC will signal the feeder to feed a leaflet into the open funnel of the bagging machine and will receive back a Cycle Complete Signal from the feeder once complete. (stop on error). 3. The PLC will signal the bucketed conveyor to move forward one bucket position to transfer a bag of hardware and a grommet into the open funnel on the bagging machine (stop on error). 4. Once both items are in the labeled bag, the PLC will signal the bagging machine to seal the bag and release the filled bag onto a customer supplied and integrated shingling conveyor below. Once complete, the PLC will repeat the process. MFT Automation's Engineering team will create a system drawing for customer approval. System Integration includes a Factory Acceptance Test to verify system performance before shipment. System Integration and testing includes testing of all individual pieces to perform as one complete system. Integration also includes testing of the feeding performance of each product size at the rate specified. This proposal assumes that the customer will install and integrate the completed system at their facility. MFT Automation can provide installation and integration services as an option at our standard rates. Options Available: Other options include an additional Remote Keypad Assembly (for your existing system), a Spare Parts Kit, a Low Product Detect Sensor Assembly, and Standard Feeder installation.
