Project Scope: The proposed system will feed your sheets and fold them around your filter packs. The system will wrap the sheet around 1, 2, 3 or 4 filters. The system will start with the sheets being separated and fed from a stack in the in feed hopper of the MFT IP 750XED Industrial Performance Friction Feeder. Once a start sensor detects an arriving filter it will dispense a sheet into the buckle fold assembly. The filters will be pushed through the buckle fold assembly by Texwrap with their existing lugged conveyor. Prior to the sheet being folded two glue dots will be applied to the top corner of the filter. The glue dots will help hold the sheet in place once it is applied. The filter thickness will range from 0.75" up to 3.5" thick. Multifeeder will provide the in feed and out feed conveyor which will transport the single and multipack filters through the system. Texwrap will square the filters up before wrapping. The APL 3000-690 Automatic Product Loader will provide increased loading capacity to the system for 3 meters of belt length.
Notes: Texwrap 2021020: 7/29: Wrapping up with FAT and punch by end of day tomorrow hopefully. Unlikely to ship tomorrow. Probably Monday. 7/8: Line #2 95% complete. About as far as it can go without Ben. Header samples showed up Tuesday. Still waiting on filter samples. Still pushing FAT next Thursday. 7/1: Integration working on reassembly for Line #2. Tentative FAT for line is 7/15. 6/24: Finally got APL frame and buckle fold rack back. Sent off to paint. Frame would be ready to pick up on Monday. 6/17: Shipment for buckle fold rack and APL tracking to be delivered today. Hoping to finish rest of the build out on Monday. 6/10: Ben on site. Everything going well so far. 3M going to pack up buckle fold rack and APL frame to send back no later than 6/17. Goal to pick up painted frame back on 6/21. Goal to reassemble everything 6/21 or 6/22. Goal to ship last few days of June. 6/3: Ben working on updated buckle fold. Will ship tomorrow for delivery Monday AM. Ben will be on site Monday morning to install the rack and SAT on site. Shipped repainted frame last week. In process of swapping that out. They will sent other APL frame back and will use it for line 2. 5/20: Ben at facility working through punch list items from FAT. Texwrap hoping to ship to TN today or tomorrow. On hold with 2nd line until we know 1st line is done. 5/13: Ben doing install and FAT with 3M this week. In a pretty good position last night. 2nd line still to complete. 5/6: Line approved yesterday. Going through punch list items. Shipping first half today by 4:00. Ben heading out tomorrow morning for install. 4/29: Working on it. Trying to get done for FAT tomorrow morning at 10am. Goal to ship 1st line tomorrow afternoon. 4/22: Integration working on first machine. Still waiting on a number of outstanding parts for buckle fold assembly. Hoping they will be in today or tomorrow. 4/15: Production working on what they can 4/8: Working through getting parts in. One vendor said they can't get parts until 4/21. 4/1: Working with vendors on part lead times. On track for customer's requested date of 4/23 3/25: Working through list of parts from Mark. One more vendor to get in touch with. 3/18: Quoting parts. Approximately 70% done. 4/22 - 5/6 estimated ship date. 3/11: No change. Quoting parts. 3/4: In procurement. Parts being quoted. 2/25: Should be releasing to procurement on Monday. 2/18: Jacob and Trent from Texwrap going back and forth on mounting location. 2/11: Had a few more calls with customer. Working through design specifics. Then will have a design review. 1/28: Working with Texwrap and 3M on project details. Sent equipment drawing files. 1/21: Kick off earlier this week. Had a call with Texwrap and 3M yesterday. In Engineering. 1/14: Waiting for Down Payment.
Work Done: 6/6/21 Ben W Travel - 7 hours Day spent Traveling to Clinton, TN. Will be on site tomorrow at 7 am. 6/7/21 Ben W Travel - 0.5 hours Onsite - 9 hours Replaced purple stripper wheels with softer durometer white stripper wheels. Will have to wait for power and printed samples to test feeder. Swapped out old buckle-fold rack with new, updated rack. Re-routed pneumatics and wiring to new rack. Switched out kip handles under feeder pan for star knobs. Some sort of miscommunication with 3M, they did not supply 220v to us for the feeder, APL, remote keypad, and Gluer. They are working on getting that supplied, however, in the meantime they would like to run anything they can off 110v. I made it clear that the feeder can run off 110v but it will likely suffer in performance at full speed. 110v will work for testing but not long term production. 3M working with Cody to get the electrical requirements for our equipment. 6/8/21 Ben W Travel - 0.5 hours On Site - 10 hours Able to power up Feeder and APL today. Only have 110v available, 220v will be but not for a week or so. Tested feeding of printed headers. They seem to be feeding pretty well with the white wheels. Still occasional double, but headers are full of static. Updated Buckle-fold Rack seems to be working very well. We will know more when we can run filters through. Texwrap is still working on getting the upstream and downstream equipment running. 6/9/21 Ben W Travel - 0.5 hours Onsite - 8.25 hours Ran samples, starting with 20" wide singles. New buckle-fold updates were all very beneficial. Biggest issue is that we are pulling doubles every so often. I also trained some members of the 3M team on how to conduct a changover. We went through the entire process, much of which they filmed. We changed over to 14" wide singles and did some test runs. Same issue as always was double feeds. 6/10/21 Ben W Travel - 0.5 hours Onsite - 9 Further trained 3M team on changeover and running procedures. Allowed them to do all the work for change over and running of our equipment. 6/11/21 Ben W Travel - 8.5 hours Traveled home from Clinton, TN. No time on site.
