Project Scope: The proposed system is for a (3) station feeding unit which will collate your products into an alternating pattern (i.e. A/B/C,A/B/C,etc) The system will begin with a base feeder, MFT IP 550XED Industrial Performance Friction Feeder, separating and feeding your products from a stack in the in feed hopper of the feeder. This feeder will us an encoder to follow the speed of the base conveyor to place a product based on a distance. The remaining (2) MFT IP 550XED Industrial Performance Friction Feeders will then trigger off the first product that was placed to create the collated sequence. The collated products will then transfer into the in feed hopper of your existing folder gluer. There will be a start sensor to detect the level of the in feed hopper and as it empties out the collating will automatically turn on and replenish the stack to maintain an operating level.
Notes: El Paso Paperbox W.O. 2020105 10/15: Install is wrapping up today. Bernie coming home this afternoon 10/8: Received upgrade today. Bernie going back out next week. 9/24: Packaged. Being picked up today. 9/17: Waiting for FAT video approval and confirmation of samples to be sent back. 9/10: Supposed to have samples last week. Samples are supposed to delivery today but have no proof of that. Machine is as far as we go with it until we receive the samples. 8/27: In Integration. Electrical wiring complete. Jim going to help out next week on Monday. Waiting for customer's validation samples to arrive. 8/20: In production. Short parts. 8/14: In Production Queue behind Managed Packaging. Ship date may be effected by Videojet rush orders 8/6: Starting in production not next week but the week after. 7/30: No update. 7/23: No Update 7/16: No update. Last of the parts due 8/7. 7/9: No update 7/2: All parts are on order. 6/25: Kicked off to procurement yesterday afternoon. 6/18: Ed sent top level drawing today for review. Waiting for approval. 6/11: Jim working with customer to get lay out drawing. ME complete assuming to changes from customer. Will release to procurement once sign off. 6/4: Should be ready to release when Ed signs off. 5/28: Kicking off this afternoon.
Work Done: 8/12 Travel to TX. Upon arrival was brought to line got it all plugged in and running, all feeders fed just fine. The conveyor speeds seemed to have been changed from what they were when line left MFT. Tried running line and the shingling was junk! After trying a couple things I noticed that the main conveyor was level with shingle conveyor, Jim and I raised it back up to where it was it shipped from MFT. Jim informed me that this how it arrived and also missing and loose hardware. Installed I/O card and cables in upstream conveyor but could not set anything up due to missing ribbon cable. 7hrs travel 3hrs onsite Bernie 10/13 Did a lot of testing to make sure the shingling of product was good. Had to adjust the timing and speed of down stream(shingling) conveyor so that product would shingled if conveyor was running or stopped. Did a little of training with Omar. Ribbon cable arrived around 1:30, installed and set parameters and tested to make sure that if either of the tipping feeders faulted that the base conveyor would stop, all good. 6.5hrs on site Bernie 10/14 Did training with Omar and Javier. Showed and explained about the shingling of product as well as how if tipping feeders faulted that would make main conveyor stop and how to recover from the stoppage. Explained how to set product fill sensor after it is mounted to folder gluer. 5.5hrs onsite Bernie 10/15 Trained 2 other operators on the basics of operation of line. Travel back to MN 3hrs onsite 9hrs travel Bernie
