Project Scope: The proposed system consists of a Multifeeder MFT 250 IP3 ED Industrial Performance Friction Feeder to tip foil packets onto backer cards traveling on a Moll Folder Gluer machine at a rate of up to 250 per minute. This proposal is contingent upon a successful test of a stack of customer-supplied samples. The Folder Gluer machine will feed a backer card and a Multifeeder MFT 250 IP3 ED Friction Feeder will be straddle mounted over the folder gluer machine by the customer. The MFT 250 IP3 ED Friction Feeders will gently separate your foil packets from an inclined stack (using a 10mm wide stripper wheel) and will transfer them one at a time onto the 200mm (7.87") extended discharge of the feeder. The feeder will be equipped with 50% gearing to allow the discharge belts of the feeder to travel 50% faster than the feed belt section to help create a gap between the products as they are fed. Small product change parts are included along with the standard side guides and product rods to allow the feeder to feed the 40mm wide product. A Vacuum Track Assembly (20mm)consisting of a vacuum chamber and a feed belt with holes that travel over the chamber will be used to best grip the products as they are fed (house vacuum supply). A pneumatic shaker assembly will be used to shake the stack in the back to assist with product flow as the packets are fed. The feeder will be signaled to tip a foil packet onto the spot glued surface of the base carrier by a Photo Optic Start Sensor Assembly into the pinch point of a customer supplied Pressure Roller Assembly. An Electronic Interface Box will be used to signal the folder gluer to stop if the feeder runs empty or has a fault. The feeder will be configured with Continuous Motion Accutipping consisting of an encoder with wheel mounted on your base machine to monitor its speed. As the speed of the base machine changes, the computer timing compensation package will vary the speed and timing of the feeder to ensure that the label is placed accurately regardless of the speed of the base machine. This proposal assumes that customer will mount, install, and integrate the feeder with the existing folder gluer machine. Multifeeder can provide mounting, integration, installation service as an option at our standard rates. Option Available: The feeder can be equipped with optional Left and Right Discharge Side Guides to register the products side to side as they travel on the discharge of the feeder. An optional APL 1000-190 Automatic Product Loader can be used to allow for an optimum stack height in the in feed magazine of the feeder and for increased in feed magazine capacity. Other options include a Static Reduction Bar, a Spare Parts Kit, a Low Product Detect Sensor Assembly, and Standard Feeder installation.
