Project Scope: This revised proposal consists of a Multifeeder Technology feeding, printing, inserting, and verification system to insert test strips into envelops at a rate of up to 40 per minute. A Multifeeder Technology MFT 250 V ED Friction Feeder will be mounted onto a HDSR 1000-250 Stand on Rollers and will gently separate your envelopes with two chambers from a vertical stack of the in feed hopper of the feeder. As the products are fed, they will be transported individually through the 375mm (14.86") long discharge of the feeder. An APL 1000-190 Automatic Product Loader (1000mm x 190mm) will be used for increased in feed magazine capacity. The feeder will feed the envelops into a 900mm long powered Vacuum Discharge Assembly with consistent repeat. Next a Bell-Mark IJ4550-S Slave Intelijet TS base system will be straddle mounted over the conveyor to print a lot code, date code, and (standard or 2D) bar code on the envelopes as they travel on the powered vacuum discharge. The Printer requires a job to be loaded through director software, and it will inquire to fill in all necessary data. It will print “X” number of envelopes until the printer is told the batch is complete. Bell-Mark will provide the necessary documents needed to write the software; however, we are not responsible for any development. The customer will be responsible for the integration and job queuing software development. Next envelopes will travel on the discharge intermittent motion in front of the first feed station. A suction cup will be positioned from the top and the bottom of the envelop to create a small opening in the side where a Multifeeder Technology MFT 250 IP HCP Industrial Performance Friction Feeder will feed a test strip into the slightly opened envelope. The Powered Discharge will be mounted onto a mounting frame. The operator will gently slide a small stack of product from a tray to load the strips into the in feed magazine of the feeder. Multifeeder estimates that two operators will be required to staff this system. A vision sensor system will be used to verify placement of the test strip in the envelope(system stop on error). Next the envelop will be transported one flight position forward intermittent motion where a second set of suction cups will open the second side of the envelop to allow either one or two test strips # 2 to be inserted into the envelop. A second vision sensor system (system stop on error) will verify that the test strip have been successfully inserted in the envelope. The system will move one more position forward where a solenoid will fold over one of the flaps on the envelop to close one side. A third camera sensor (system stop on error) will be used to verify that the flap has been folded shut on the envelope. The two MFT 250 HCP Friction feeders will be mounted onto a single Multifeeder Stand on Rollers. The base feeder will be equipped with two Vacuum Track Assemblies each consisting of a vacuum chamber and a feed belt with holes that travels over the chamber as the products are fed. The test strip feeders will each be equipped with a single Vacuum Track Assembly. The completed envelopes will be transferred one at a time into a drop gate mechanism where they will be stacked and accumulate in batch of 6, 8, 12, 46, 48, or 52. The maximum batch size will be 60. The Drop gate mechanism will drop a completed stack onto a SC 2000-350 Shingling Conveyor (2000mm x 350mm) for further processing. Two Low Product Detect Sensor Assemblies will be mounted onto the Shingling Conveyor. The conveyor will normally be at rest but once a stack arrives the conveyor will be singled to move forward to create space for the next stack with a 1" - 2" gap between stacks. Once the conveyor has moved the forward to create space for the next stack, it will be signaled to pause again to wait for next drop. A second Low Product Detect Sensor Assembly will be mounted on the end of the conveyor to signal the system to stop if the conveyor becomes full. Mechanical Engineering will create a system drawing for customer approval. System Integration includes a Factory Acceptance Test to verify system performance before shipment. System Integration and testing includes testing of all individual pieces to perform as one complete system. Integration also includes testing of the feeding performance of each product size at the rate specified. A detailed set up video will be created showing step by step how to set up and operate the equipment with each of the different samples provided at the rates specified prior to shipment. This proposal include five days of start up assistance. Options Available: Other options include a Low Product Sensor Assembly, a spare parts kit, and standard feeder installation.
