Project Scope: The proposed system consists of a Multifeeder Technology MFT 250 Industrial Performance “IP” Series ED Friction Feeder system to tip cards up to 200mm (7.87”) wide onto base products traveling on your existing transport at a rate of up to 167 per minute with a tolerance of +/- 1/16". The MFT 250 Friction Feeder will be straddle mounted by the customer over the existing transport. The MFT 250 feeder will gently separate your products from a vertical stack of the in feed hopper of the feeder. As the products are fed, they will be transported individually through the 200mm long discharge of the feeder. Left and Right Discharge Side Guides will be used to be certain that the products are straight as they travel on the feeder discharge. Base cards will travel on your existing transport and a glue machine will apply glue to the card, and the MFT 250 IP ED Friction Feeder will be signaled to feed a product into the pinch point of a Pressure Roller Assembly onto the spot glued surface by a Tipping Photo Optic Start Sensor Assembly. The feeder will be configured with Continuous Motion Accutipping consisting of an encoder with wheel mounted on your base machine to monitor the speed of the base machine. As the speed of the base machine changes, the computer timing compensation package will vary the speed and timing of the feeder to ensure that the insert is placed accurately regardless of the speed of the base machine. Options Available: The feeder can be mounted onto a Multifeeder supplied straddle mount assembly as an option. An optional Electronic Interface Box will be used to signal the transport to stop if the feeder runs empty or has a fault. Optional Dual Vacuum Track Assemblies each consisting of a vacuum chamber and a feed belt with holes that travels over the chamber will be used to allow the feeder to best grip the products as they are fed. Other options include a Spare Parts Kit and a Low Product Detect Sensor Assembly.
