What Arrived: (Machine Serial Number:2438-10900) Machine appears to have issue in Encoder Circuit of Motherboard. Customer wants quick turn.
Description of Problem: MFT 250 IP3 HCP Slider XED Serial Number 2438-10900 (1) 30mm SE R Feed Belt 1199900 (1) 30mm SW 1097300 (4) 20mm XED HCP Slider Discharge Belts (1) 50mm Rear Support Curve (1) FRW Pressure Roller Mounted to Discharge Cross Bracing (1) E/R Pair (1) Start Sensor 7013100 w/ cable and munt (1) Low Product Teal P&F 2" fixed w/ cable an mount (1) Signal light (1) Line Speed Encoder, with customer backet (1) Interlock Plug (1) 120V Power Cord.
Work Done: Found machine in Accutipping Speed Match. Encoder is not an MFT Encoder, but signal type matches, with a different count of 7200...... but what the real problem was the pin out did not match. Verified it does work with our test encoder, and even simulated Accutipping. Was not jogging at correct speed, as Motor settings where set incorrectly Gearing Off, Gear Box Fractions 1/1. Set them correct for machine Medium, and 100/107, verified it runs at correct speed, and settings stayed the same. Passed all other diagnostics. Could use a new Feed Belt, but other then that in good shape. Put into 24 hour burn in. Completed repair quote, and emailed to the customer. I will be out the next couple of days but Dale can finish this off. 1/22/26 DTK Completed burn-in without faults. Passed all std. IP3 feeder tests including APL test. no I/O bds. Jog speed tached at 20.60 mpm at 20mpm setting. Removed Burn-in test from Setup choices. Inverted Low Prod setting so that blinks when nothing in front of sensor, No blink when sensor active. Saved current settings to program 1 did backup to file 1 but did NOT touch file 11. Advised Shaun it can be crated in AM, removed and unplugged stacklight, placed encoder on discharge belt but plugged-inreminded to package old encoder and to be careful of start sensor mounted beneath. DEK 26 Jan 26 Installed 1199900 feedbelt, #9 with 048 and 090 shims. reinstalled Burn-in mode, burned in for 2 hrs and belt tracked well. DEK 27 jan 26 Customer sent PO, and approved PPA return shipping. Procssed for prepayment invoice SO# 048463. Ran final diagnostics and checks. Looks good. Turned over to Shipping. Ready to ship when payment is made. Updated assigned serial numbers. 1/28/26 DTK Received payment. Sent to shipping. 1/29/26 DTK
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: Found that Encoder returned did have the same output type. A different counts per revolution 7200, instead of MFTs 2500, but the real problem was the Pin out of this Encoder did not match. It is a failed Encoder. Feed Belt is in need of replacing.
