What Arrived: the feeder wont work past 80 feet per minuet. it also says jam or bubble feed when there is not one MFT 350 IP (Machine Serial Number:0524-06155) When start to get above 80 it will place cards randomly then eventually not do anything like it wont throw any faults to why it stopped working Some times it will through a random double feed but not shut off and run for a minute before It throws the code it is so far apart I didn’t think that was why it was coding. Right be for it dose this the cards will stick out the exit of the feeder a little sometimes it goes back in and sometimes it throughs the codes. We did send a box of the cards that we run through the feeder with It

Work Done: Asked customer to double check Serial Number as it does not match anything in our system. And also looked for more clarification on their description of problem, when I give them the RMA# 2/13/25 DTK Customer sent updated serial number, and additional information on the issue. I updated RMA. 2/14/25 DTK Return shipping information: 3rd party bill to: XPT Business WardKraft c/o AFS logistics PO Box18170 Shreveport, LA 71138 Erickson checked in. Passed diagnostics. Did an overnight burn in really slow, with no faults. 2/20/25 DTK Worked with Erickson to set up a simulated burn in, saw stop position of product was changing a lot between products, half inch or more. Thought it may be because various "Trucker Driver Cards" where loaded and the change in colors between cards, was throwing off the sensor. Erickson loaded all the same, and same issue was present. 2/21/25 DTK Tried solid white cards and saw the same thing. Looked over settings curiously they have Conveyer Counts per 100mm set to around 360ish, and also they messed with Motor Encoder counts, and Feeder was running a bit higher the rates speed, about 1.5%. Reset to defaults, and entered only settings to run in Accutipping, and stop position under sensor pair, is still all over the place. Entered all their setting except Motor Encoder Counts, and it ran at correct speed, and issue still there. Tried a test chip issue still there. 2/26/25 DTK Got to thinking I do not know if this a really problem or not, I would think variance of over a half inch would be, but I had heard Accutipping will compensate for changes in stop position, in placement. Observed that the shorter the gap the longer it stops pass the sensor, thought at first that would be counter intuitive, but then it kind of makes sense that with a short gap it wants to be sure it pushes it all the way out, and it really looks like the software is doing it on purpose and it is following a change in gap. Put customer chip back in. Next step is to do some placement testing with a conveyer. Also issue could very likely be caused by their provided start sensor, and or their provided relay interface box. Erickson was setting up to do a placement test on one of our conveyers. He claimed Feeder just started running constantly, when customer Start Sensor was connected. 2/27/25 DTK I David Kelley took a look, and did not see this Start Sensor miss-behavior at all. This Start Sensor is Retro Reflective, and requires a reflector in the background. Found Remote Keypad would not power up, issue was loose connection for AC hot in plug, fixed it, and it passed testing. Verified Relay Interface function, including fault output. 2/28/25 DTK Mike also could not duplicate Sensor Behavior. Talk to customer about this, and they would like two Start Sensors quoted. Mike worked on the Placement Set Up. But it was not able to work well at 100 Feet Per Minute. I added a Pressure Roller, but could not achieve correct angle to nip roller due to height of Feeder. Will need to get onto one of our adjustable stands. 3/7/25 DTK Dale and I got on to and Adjustable Stands, were able to keep plate on Feeder, and get a couple holes to line up to bolt and nut Feeder to stand. Ran some tipping tests at 35 MPM, or about 115 Feet Per Minute. Mostly good results. Did see issues from changing in colors between the cards, was able to correct if I played with setting product thickness in a different area of card. Saw all kinds of issues if diffent truck driver cards where loaded at once. I think a Advanced Product Sensor would make things easier on customer, if the are ok with loosing double detection by thickness. 3/11/25 DTK Talked to Greg, and he really did not have much for sensor options that are resistant to color change, that would be easy to mount. He mentioned why not just turn double detect off. Asked customer if they run different truck cards in the same run, they said no, and also asked about turning MPD Faults off and they are good with that. Think if we can get it to work with the existing e/r pair, by turning these faults off, physically miss aligning the sensor to effectively make the emitter weaker, and increasing the Product Separation Len setting that is the threshold for what is considered a gap. Quoted Customer. Will need to do more testing before shipping. 3/13/25 DTK Offset E/R Product Sensor. Set Prod SEP LEN to 20mm, and turned off MPD Faults. Ran a new trucker stack successfully. Erickson to do more testing tomorrow. 3/19/25 DTK Erickson ran at least 20 stacks (4-5in), of 4 drivers. All looked good. I then ran a couple different stacks of 4-5 inches, looked good. Set Conveyer Counts per 100mm back to 347. Checked all these settings stayed when power was cycled. Went through standard diagnostics. two bulbs burnt out in stack light. Tested with new Start Sensor, other one will not be in until next week, will need to do as back order. Passed Relay Box test. Then it was acting up with the remote keypad test. Emailed customer as I am not sure if they even care if the Remote Keypad works. 3/20/25 DTK Customer asked what new Remote Keypad would cost so dug into it more, and found it was just the Membrane Keypad. Also in testing 20mm for Prod Sep Len proved to be a bit much. Went down to 10mm and tested good. REV Repair Quote and re-sent to the customer. 3/21/25 DTK Received revised PO. 3/26/25 DTK Installed Membrane Keypad to Remote Keypad, tested good, and tested two replacement sensors. We good! Shipping under SO#046926 DTK 3/27/25
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: Saw instant of Start Sensor causing Feeder to run, when not triggered .Recommend replacing. Customer requested a back up sensor also included in the quote. Found AC wire disconnected Remote Keypad causing it to be unable to power up. Along with standard diagnostic testing, Set up Placement Test on a conveyer at MFT. Was able to recreate some of the issues. Determined it was the E/R Product Sensor Pair getting confused by changes in light density. As customer is ok with disabling Multiply Product Detection by thickness (It would still fault and stop on error, if the cards where overlapped by length), We believe I can get it to work with the existing e/r pair, by turning these faults off, physically miss aligning the sensor to effectively make the emitter weaker, and increasing the Product Separation Len setting that is the threshold for what is considered a gap.
