What Arrived: 16mm Drive Shaft blew out, customer bought upgrade parts, then discovered Motherboard is burnt. Returning for repair. Expediting at no charge, due to customer status, and their need. (Machine Serial Number:1649-03110)
Description of Problem: 1649-03110 with attached 80/20 mount piece and part of mount 4300125 minus the 19 inch crossbar . AMP 5.25 SW Ver 5.145 Unwind and rewind reels attached. Stripping plate attached including product sensor. No light tower No encoder No Power Cord no external sensor (no start sensor)
Work Done: Discovered large firm chunk of fuzz between powered pins 1 and 3, and hanging over into burn area. Board burnd to left "P" jumper to nearest pad which is the filtered side of the brown wire AC power coming in.. Blew filter choke and still has resistance of 800 ohm from P jumper to the output of the filter choke pad, which feeds dc power supply. DC supply was saved by blowing of choke and still functions. Installed replacement X9 Motherboard, front connector board, and product sensor. Unlocked MB, enabled keyed features High Performance, Digilal input wizard, Labeler Wixzard, Labeler Accutipping, Labeler Accutipping AT. Ran 2 hrs of Burn-in OK, then stopped and ran Diagnostics. Passed all standard diagnostics, did not run APL test. Restarted overnight Burn-in at 6:45 pm. Generated Quotation and sent quoe to Chuck Katz. NEED TO REMIND CHUCK OR TECH OF NEED TO SET LINE VOLTAGE VALUE WHEN THEY REINSTALL. dek 12 sEPT 22 Looking thorugh settings and saw Accell Decell at 180K. Remebered how Jim turned them down to 90K to solve wire whisker issue. Turned them down to 90 K. Was checking out the belt, and Josh saw me, and saw the pulleys where not aligned, and belt was riding on Dampener strangely. Asked him if he could help with it. Chuck complained about price, so I checked order and saw we where like at 75% C. Margin, so I offered a 10% courtsey discount. Verified Motor setting was correct, and Overcurrent Settings where at defaults. Asked customer on voltage used. Josh found dampener Pulley was damaged. I pulled one and replaced it. Then Josh finished work to belt. Did a burn in for about an hour. Belt still looked good. Then saw that the Accell Decell goes back to 180K when you go into burn in, or could be when you go back to Labeler Accutipping AT. Set back to 90K overwrote back up file 1, customer had one on 2, saved settings. Checked if you change program it stays at 90K. Backed up to network. Made note in Assigned Serial Numbers on the Accel Deccel being at 90K each, to prevent belt whiskers, and added RMA#. Completed diagnostics. Let customer know machine is ready, could pick up Friday up to 4:30, still did not get answer on voltage. It is on 115V now. 9/13/24 DTK Cross Bar was signed into inventory 9/13/24 Chuck said they ran on both 115 and 220. Give him instructions by email to switch between the two. Customer picked up before paper work was done, due to mis que with me an Chuck. SO# 045916 9/16/24 DTK
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: Replacement Motherboard P/N 7051100 required due to large unrepairable burn hole in PCB likely the result of major overload on motor. Replaced front connector board due to broken Product sensor connector which had been glued in place making product sensor replacement very difficult. New product sensor with undamaged connector needed.
