What Arrived: Feeder will not boot. Give customer typical usually the Computer board schpeal, and how we will not have the board until end of OCT. They did not seem comfortable making change, and didn't want to be stuck with Computer Board, if it is not the issue, and elected to return for repair. (Machine Serial Number:1025-08368)
Description of Problem: MFT 250 V ED Serial Number 1025-08368 (2) 20mm SE R Feed Belts 1199800 (2) 20mm SW 1097200 (4) 20mm ED Dis Belt 1177300 (1) Bracket for S Rear Support Curve (1) non MFT Start Sensor Mount (1) Interlock Plug (1) E/R Pair Came in crate.
Work Done: Feeder missing two Support Plates (feet) replaced, so machine would sit level on the bench. Found Computer board is causing no boot up. Replaced computer board. Passed electrical diagnostics. Upper Fan missing blades. Sensor pair was worn spots to conductors. Machine has a lot of mech slop, and uses Accutipping. Also belts and stripper wheels are worn. will need further mechanical evaluation. Put into 24 hour burn in and observed for proper operation. 12/6/22 Overnight machine faulted in burn in, with a Major Product Jam. Machine would jog normally. AC Detect Chip does not pass the heat gun test, and machine faults into Major Product Jam when a little heat is applied to U47 AC Detect. Vicki, to change U47. After Vicki changed U47 Motherboard does pass heat test on test fixture. Evaluated mechanisms further, it could use a bearing rebuild. Re-installed Motherboard, and put in unloaded burn in, and observed for proper operation. 12/6/22 DTK Passed overnight burn in. Did an other diagnostics check, and completed mechanical evaluation. Prepared Repair Quote, and emailed to the customer. 12/7/22 DTK Sent Customer reminder email, and see he did send back the read receipt. 1/5/22 DTK Left message with reception. 1/6/22 DTK Emailed customer asking for Status Update. 1/12/22 DTK Customer got back to me and asked for a quote for just a few electrical items. Emailed him back offering a - Minimum Recommended repair $6,328.00 - Bare bones just get the machine passing electrical tests, but in rough low performing mechanical shape, $3,469.00 1/13/22 DTK Received PO. Will need prepayment before shipping. 1/18/22 DTK Completed work to the machine, and ran a few hours of successful burn in. 1/27/23 DTK Completed check out. Emailed Jeff letting him know work is done, and we need shipping plan, and payment before shipping 1/30/23 DTK Tried Calling Jeff, and left message with reception. 2/6/23 Jeff said boss would be in next week, to settle this. 2/7/23 Pinged Jeff again. 2/28/23 DTK Pinged Jeff again. 3/27/23 DTK Called Jeff. Could not get him on the line of leave him a VM. Then Sent him an email. 3/29/23 DTK Jeff, emailed saying to provide prepayment invoice, with shipping quote, and they will pay. Updated assigned serial numbers. Did a quick diagnostics check. Processed for prepayment under SO# 043035 3/31/23 DTK
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: Computer Board failed causing the machine to be unable to boot up. An Optocoupler on the Motherboard was causing an intermittent false Motor Fault of "Major Product Jam". Product Sensor Pair has insulation worn deep into conductor. One of the electrical cabinet cooling fans has broken blades, the OEM Fan Filter is missing. Customer denied full recommended Repair Quote REV 0. After discussing options with Jeff Maida he choose a Bare bones repair, just get the machine passing electrical tests, but in rough low performing mechanical shape. This REV 1 is that quote.
