What Arrived: (Machine Serial Number:1352-08912) Motor generates Major Product Jam fault. When Status OFF motor spins freely when removed from mechanical load. Upon initialization, motor will move slightly then generate Major Product Jam fault. Holds position in Status ON (buzzing when try to rotate)
Description of Problem: MFT 350ip gen2 S/N1352-08912 including: Light Tower 25mm plastic S curve (Mounted) (3) quite worn 1199900 feed belt and (3) 30mm stripper wheel. (6) elastic discharge belt on ED discharge with metal P mount. Includes Product sensor 7007400 and cross bracing.
Work Done: Duplicated problem on bench. Motor would hold position but with a choppy motion. Motor is connectorized so swapped motor electrically with a used motor returned from the field(slight overtemp) and motor jogged OK with a little "clicking" unloaded. Mechanically swapped out motor and had return of failure symptom with slight loading .DEK 11/18/19 Checked removed motor on test fixture and ran quietly and smoothly. Removed Motherboard to replace (8) opto isolators which were historically unreliable AVAGO manufacturer. David tested and observed U38 seemed not to be switching. DEK 11/19/19 Spoke with Will Bogue on phone and gave verbal quote who gave verbal OK for repair and also agreed to have me install new feedbelts for parts plus 1/2 hr labor.DEK 11/20/19 Unit ran 23.5 hrs of burn in and tested OK. DEK 11/21 Larry got ground freight quote , Charged prepay on Allcolor credit card and shipped 11/22/19
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: Isolated fault to motor control loop. Located a failed Opto Isolation component in Motherboard motor drive circuit. Replaced faulty component and retested unit. There is a 3% administrative fee on Credit Card prepay orders.
