What Arrived: Will not power up. Customer tried replacing DC power supply, and this did not solve the problem. Returning for evaluation and repair. (Machine Serial Number:unknown at this time
Description of Problem: (1) MFT 350 ip XED Serial Number 0402-06029 (3) 20mm rough red feed belts (1) 20mm stripper wheel (4) 20mm feed belts (6) 20mm discharge pulleys (1) HD rear support (2) Magazine side plates (2) Product support rods (1) Stack Light (1) ER pair (1) Power cord Additional items for Barcode Reader. Total Barcode items (1) Scanner w/ cable (1) Sensor w/ cable (1) Interface Box (1) Dual Barcode Control Unit (1) Feeder to Interface box cable (1) Interface box to Control Unit Cable (1) Control Unit power module
Work Done: Checked machine in, plugged ina and got no power. Fuses test OK, AC input module does have continuity through to inside of machine. Machine has internal short shutting down power supply. IO board LED's flashing when machine is powered up MM Found that Motherboard was shorting out DC power supply board. The Motherboard has a short on the 24v. Jane to remove parts until short goes away. 10/27/15 DK After Jane removed U8, C10, C12, and C13 Short went away. C10 showed sighns of physical damage. This concerned me that some other device used on the machine caused the problem. Reauested Customer return the rest of their barcode equipment. 10/29/15 DK Jane replaced the shorted items. MB passed test. 10/30/15 DK Reassembled Motherboard, and put in burn in observing for proper operation. I/O board passed bench test. Customer's barcode equipment arrived. There was issues with grounding of DC side of Power Supply (broken wire), corrected them. 11/2/15 DK Finished installing Motherboard, and verified function with Barcode Reader. Seems it will reconginze any barcode as long as a barcode is present. 11/3/15 DK Perfromed standard IO test, foun everything to be functioning normally. Did not find any mechanical issues with machine, put into 24 hour burn in. MM 11/3/2015 after 3.5 HOURS Burn in sent customer repair quote. 11/3/15 DK Feeder passed 24 hour burn in, and a second barcode test. Shipping under SO# 025625 11/4/15 DK
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: A few electrical components on the Motherboard were shorting out the 24v DC supply. Machine has passed all testing, including verification of Barcode system. Repair quote does not reflect final charges for service of this unit. Other problems either mechanical or electrical may arise during the RMA process due to natural causes. Quoted labor is an estimate. Actual labor time will be billed. This quote does not reflect shipping charges. All items will be shipped via UPS ground unless otherwise specified on purchase order. A $475.00 diagnostic/administration/handling fee will be applied to an item the customer deems is uneconomical to repair. All replaced and un-repairable items will be disposed of, unless otherwise stated on purchase order. * A hard copy purchase order that agrees to repair quote charges is required before work can continue.
