What Arrived: Returning Feeder for evaluation and repair. False Major Product Jam. (Machine Serial Number:0448-07166)
Description of Problem: (1) MFT350 XD SN:0448-07166 (3) Rough natural feed belts (3) Stripper wheels (6) Discharge belts (2) Magazine side plates (2) Product support rod brackets (sans rods) (1) Stack light (1) Rear support curve (1) Foot clamp (1) ER pair (1) Low product sensor (1) Power cord
Work Done: Feeder was checked in and inspected, placed into 24 hour burn in 9/29/2015 MM 2 minutes into burn in it was noted that the discharge was not spinning, issue with lower spur gear will need to be addressed. Stopped burn in to tighten spur gear, when burn in was restarted got a jam fault without the feeder moving, cleared and jogged machine and worked fine. started 24 hour burn 9/29/2015 Machine passed 24 hour burn in, did standard IO tests, found ER pair to be getting weak on 2 channels, this will need replacement. All other IO tests passed. Found 2 feed belts to be worn and in need of replacement, should replace all three. 2 stripper wheels are gouged and have grooves in them, need replacement. Found the spur gears need replacement. Found 4 discharge rollers gouged and grooved, theses will need to be replaced. All 3 lower discharge belts are worn and cracked and in need of replacement, should replace uppers as well. both fan filters in need of replacement. Did not replicate major product jam fault so put machine into burn in for another 24 hours 10/1/2015 MM Ran machine on 3rd 214 hour burn in and got no issues. Put the machine into a 4th burn in 10/5/2015 MM Issues with payment on machine caused delays, Highroad wanted Meadowlnds Bindery to pay the fees and this caused pause since neither have a solid credit history. Repairs were made to machine, machine was put into 24 hour burn in which was stopped in 40 minutes due to misaligned spur gear. Gear was aligned and burn in restarted. David interrupted burn in after several hours then restarted, burn in then ran for 21 hours without incident. Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: During full evaluation of machine it was found that the spur gears slipping on shaft, this could be the issue causing the major product jam faults, both spur gears need replacement. 2 of the 3 feed belts worn out, the should be replaced as a set so all three need replacement. 2 of the stripper wheels have gouges and grooves and need replacement. 4 of the discharge pulleys are scored and worn causing wear on the inside of the discharge belts, these need replacement. 4 of the 6 discharge belts are worn and need replacement, should be replaced as a set so all 6 need replacement. 2 channels on the product sensor are weak, the product sensor is nearing failure and needs to be replaced. Both case fan filters need to be replaced. Repair quote does not reflect final charges for service of this unit. Other problems either mechanical or electrical may arise during the RMA process due to natural causes. Quoted labor is an estimate. Actual labor time will be billed. This quote does not reflect shipping charges. All items will be shipped via UPS ground unless otherwise specified on purchase order. A $475.00 diagnostic/administration/handling fee will be applied to an item the customer deems is uneconomical to repair. All replaced and un-repairable items will be disposed of, unless otherwise stated on purchase order. * A hard copy purchase order that agrees to repair quote charges is required before work can continue.
