What Arrived: Feeder has Major Product Jam. Sounds to be a Motherboard problem. Returning for evaluation and repair. (Machine Serial Number:0506-06122)
Description of Problem: MFT 350 IP ED w/ table serial number 0506-06122 (1) 30mm R Red non-oem Feed Belt (1) 30mm White non-oem Feed Belt (6) 20mm Discharge Belts (1) 25mm Rear Support Curve ASSY (customized non-oem) (1) Set mag side guides assy (1) Product Support Rod assy (1) Set of Discharge Side Guides (1) custom air hose (1) stack light (1) Product Sensor Pair
Work Done: Found that wire caring 24v DC to connector board has broken. The wire could have been making contact with the case intermittently. The loss of 24v to the connector board caused the encoder, and signal light. The machine's software predates cardline. Customer is using serial control, w/o encoder input. Replaced cable. 8/28/15 DK Electronics are functional. Upper Discharge Shaft was severely out of alignment causing the Height Adjustment for it to be locked up. A non-OEM fan filters were installed that inhibit air flow much more then the OEM. Replaced fan filters. Put Feeder in 24 hour burn in, while monitoring 15V VCC. 8/31/15 DK Sent email to the customer, explaining what we found. Andy said to try and find the issue for one more day. 9/1/15 DK Feeder passed 48 hours of burn in. Wiggled wires to try and duplicate Major Product Jam and could not. Completed repair quote and emailed to the customer. Feeder passed final checkout, incuding test of serial control. Sent to shipping. SO# 025170 9/2/15 DK
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: I found that a cable brining 24v to the Front Connector board was pinched in a cover at some point and had broken. This caused the Signal Light, and the Encoder to be inoperable. I see this machine pre dates Cardline, and has been used without Encoder feedback. While the Connector Board was off the machine we replaced the broken receptacle for the Motor Interlock Plug. There was a Fan Filter installed that was not an OEM part. This Filter restricted air flow more than our OEM filters. Machine passed 48 hours of a dry simulated test run with out the Major Product Jam Fault. Checked wiring for suspect connection that could have caused Major Product Jam, and found none. Major Product Jam was never duplicated. Last three items on the quote are to spring tension the Upper Exit Roller. Repair quote does not reflect final charges for service of this unit. Other problems either mechanical or electrical may arise during the RMA process due to natural causes. Quoted labor is an estimate. Actual labor time will be billed. This quote does not reflect shipping charges. All items will be shipped via UPS ground unless otherwise specified on purchase order. A $475.00 diagnostic/administration/handling fee will be applied to an item the customer deems is uneconomical to repair. All replaced and un-repairable items will be disposed of, unless otherwise stated on purchase order. * A hard copy purchase order that agrees to repair quote charges is required before work can continue.
