What Arrived: Feeder will not load software. Customer has purchased a replacement Computer Board and installed it. This did not solve the problem. Returning for evaluation, repair, and refurbishment. (Machine Serial Number:unknown at this time)
Description of Problem: MFT 350ip XED serial number 0402-06029 (with I/O Board0 (3) 20mm R Red Feed Belts (1) 20mm Stripper Wheel (4) 20mm Discharge Belt (2 extra Discharge Pulleys 1/1) (1) HD Rear Support (1) Set mag side plates (2) Product Support Rod ASSY (2) Composite brackets for 16mm round rod (1) Stack light w/ blue light and separate connector for it (1) e/r pair (1) 120 v power cord (1) extra computer board
Work Done: Found that both Computer boards function. The problem was a corrupt software chip. Mike C. was able to pull a back up file off the bad chip and put it onto a new chip. Peter N. approved offering credit for the new Computer board towards this repair. Completed evaluation, and emailed quote to the customer. 4/10/15 DK Checked Computer Board into stock. Tony to complete work. 4/13/15 DK Tony completed work to the Feeder. 4/17/15 DK Put Feeder in burn in and observed for proper operation. 4/20/15 DK Feeder passed 24hr burn in, and check out. Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: Found that Software chip was causing machine to be unable to boot up. We were able to pull a backup file off the failed chip, and put setting information on the new chip. It is possible that his back up file is missing information for needed setting. The file we have, tells me that the machine is set up to run at a user entered speed (without use of an Encoder), run a user inputted product count, receive a signal to start Feeding via the J1 Port. There is an unmarked 14 pin female port that is currently set up to receive a Clear Cancel Command from another control device, and send fault status of the Feeder. I would like to discuss your application, and interface to determine if other parameters are needed. We may need to do some additional adjustments to settings, once the machine is back at your site. A couple of bulbs are burnt out in the Stack Light. The Product Sensor pair has exposed conductors that will cause the machine to re-boot if these conductors come in contact with the machine. One of the Cooling Fans is missing blades. One of the fan filters is missing. The Universal Double Joints are broken. The Knobs for height adjustment are bent. There is a wobble in one of the Center Piece Shafts due to a worn End Piece Shaft. This wobble has damaged the Bearing. Recommend replacing all Bearings for Bearing Housings. Sleeves are to reduce excess vertical slop in Upper Discharge Shaft, and Stripper Wheel Shaft. A Timing Pulley and Timing Belt have uneven ware on their teeth. The Collars that align the Spanning Pulleys for the Feed Belts are missing. Springs are to be added to Upper Exit Roller. We normally do not allow returns of electrical items, but in this case we have approval to offer credit for the recently purchased Computer Board towards this repair. If you choose we can take the credit off the repair, and you can have the new Computer Board as a backup. Repair quote does not reflect final charges for service of this unit. Other problems either mechanical or electrical may arise during the RMA process due to natural causes. Quoted labor is an estimate. Actual labor time will be billed. This quote does not reflect shipping charges. All items will be shipped via UPS ground unless otherwise specified on purchase order. A $475.00 diagnostic/administration/handling fee will be applied to an item the customer deems is uneconomical to repair. All replaced and un-repairable items will be disposed of, unless otherwise stated on purchase order. * A hard copy purchase order that agrees to repair quote charges is required before work can continue.
