What Arrived: At high seeds it shuts down. Returning for repair and refurbishment. Customer would like an addtional 2 sets of discharge belts quoted and shipped with the machine. Same discharge belts as on the feeder being returned. (Machine Serial Number:0706-06377) Contacted customer stating that a more dertialed description of the problem is required. Found out that when running around 3k product per hour. The machine goes into Watch Dog Product Jam, and Watch Dog No Product faults.
Description of Problem: (1) MFT 250ip Friction Feeder (S/N 0706-06377) (2) 30mm Feed Belts (purple in color, rough in texture) (2) 30mm Stripper Wheels (4) 20mm Discharge Belts (2) Magazine Side Plates (2) Product Support Rods (1) Emitter Receiver Pair (1) Three Color Stack Light (1) Start Sensor w/Cable (1) Line Speed Encoder w/Mounting Rod (1) Power Cord (non MFT) Missing product support curve. U joints set screw loose upon arrival. Product sensor rubbing on belts with damage to cable upon arrival. 05/22/14 MC
Work Done: Put machine through check in diagnostics. Found all of the inputs and outputs to be functioning normally. Passed initial check in, but does sound like its running rough. Additional testing required. 05/22/14 MC Product Jam Faults and No Product Faults were caused by worn belts. Feeder passed a 4.5 hour burn in and all diagnostics. Prepared repair quote, and emailed to the customer. 6/2/14 DK Micah and Tony completed repairs. Machine passed 14 hour burn in, and check out by Tony. Unfortatnly Micah did not log his hours to the RMA. Sent email with 10 hours labor instead of quoted 14 hours labor. Received revised PO. Shipping out under SO# 22416 6/25/14 DK GIVE 5% DISOCOUNT ON BELTS. CUSTOMER WOULD LIKE US TO WROK WITH HIM ON LABOR. PO WILL NOT HAVE LABOR ON IT. CUSTOMER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE ACTUAL LABOR BEFORE SHIPPING AND THEY WILL REVISE THE PO.
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: There is not any functional issues with the electronics of the machine that could cause false Watch Dog Product Jam, and No Product Faults. Believe these were caused by true doubles of product causing Watch Dog Product Jams, and lack of product being feed causing the No Product Fault. These issues were caused by the worn out Feed Belts, Stripper Wheels, and Discharge Belts. White Collars that align the Spanning Pulleys for the Feed Belts are cracked. Feed Belts, Stripper Wheels and Discharge Belts are worn, and in need of replacing. Teeth of the Spur Gears are worn affecting how they mesh and this will affect the placement accuracy of the machine. There is excess vertical slop in the Upper Discharge Shaft and the Stripper Wheel Shaft due to worn Sleeve Bearing Flanges in the Bearing housings. This slop will also decrease placement accuracy. There is a hair line crack developed in the mechanical side case, due to the vibration caused by having one of the spur gears miss aligned causing only a portion of the teeth to mesh horizontally. Recommend replacing this case before the crack becomes more severe effecting the machines operation. Repair quote does not reflect final charges for service of this unit. Other problems either mechanical or electrical may arise during the RMA process due to natural causes. Quoted labor is an estimate. Actual labor time will be billed. This quote does not reflect shipping charges. All items will be shipped via UPS ground unless otherwise specified on purchase order. A $475.00 diagnostic/administration/handling fee will be applied to an item the customer deems is uneconomical to repair. All replaced and un-repairable items will be disposed of, unless otherwise stated on purchase order. * A hard copy purchase order that agrees to repair quote charges is required before work can continue.
