What Arrived: (Machine Serial Number:0238-02138)Feeder blows AC input fuse.
Description of Problem: MFT 250 XLD w/ table SN 0238-02138 (2) 30mm r SE feed belts (2) 30mm stripper wheels (4) 20mm discharge belts (2) product support rod assyemblies (1) stack light (1) e/r pair (1) PO for $1500
Work Done: Found that Rectifier board was causing the AC input fuses to open. Replaced FETs on AMP board and this did not solve the problem. Rectifier board will need replacing. 8/30/10 DK Replaced Rectifier board. Tested feeder. Prepared repair quote, and emailed to customer. 8/31/10 DK Found tht a new problem came up. The motor would run away after being told to cycle, or jog, and then it would run away as soon as the feeder was brought out of status off. Found that the winsystem computer board was causing the problem (last one in inventory). Put feeder in burn in. Observed smoke coming out of electonic incloser. Feeder coninued to run in burn in. Cancled burn in. Saw that fues for saftey circuit of rectifer was open. Found that the two fets on the rectifier board were shorted from source to drain, causing the saftey circuit to be enabled. More than likley the smoke came from the fets. Replaced fets on board, and re-instaled the circuit. 9/1/10 DK Saw same motor run away issue with replacment winsystems computer board (apparently the problem is intermittent). Saw problem with replacment disk on chip. Swaped tech 80 board with test fixture, and both feeder ran for 4 hours with out a problem. Problem would show up before in less than 30 minnutes. Mark N. recomended re-wiring motor cable, and changing data interface cable. 9/2/10 DK Changed said cables, and saw problem in .5 hours. Found a good tech 80 board. Feeder ran for 2.5 hours with good tech 80 board. Did not leave feeder in burn in over night, as did not want to chance feeder motor running away all week end long. 9/3/10 DK Feeder ran in burn in properly for over 8 hours. Updated quote, and emailed to customer. 9/7/10 DK Feeder passed a 24hr burn in, and check out. 9/8/10 DK Recieved updated PO. Ready to ship. 9/10/10 DK
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: Found that rectifier board was causing AC input fuse to blow. This board was deemed uneconomical to repair. Two of the light bulbs in the stack light burnt out. The filters for the electronic side housing are deteriorating. When simulating the feeder to run a production run a new problem arose. Every time the feeder was given a signal to feed the motor would run away and stop without removing power. The problem was isolated to the Motion Control board board. The circuit was deemed un-repairable. Repair quote does not reflect final charges for service of this unit. Other problems either mechanical or electrical may arise during the RMA process due to natural causes. This quote does not reflect shipping charges. All items will be shipped via UPS ground unless otherwise specified on purchase order. A $475.00 diagnostic/administration/handling fee will be applied to an item the customer deems is uneconomical to repair. * A hard copy purchase order that agrees to repair quote charges is required before work can continue.
