What Arrived: Feeder is arcing and sparking blowing input fuse. Customer is considering totaling feeder. (Machine Serial Number:0101-01721)
Description of Problem: MFT 350 XED w/ table SN 0101-01721 (2) 20mm plum feed belts (4) 20mm plum stripper wheels (8) 20mm plum discharge belts (2) s shaped support curves (1) stack light (1) e/r pair (1) pair of customer fabracated discharge side guides (taped to discharge table) (1) power cord
Work Done: Evaluated feeder, and prepared repair quote. Found that sparking was due to loose connections on power switch, and that switch would not always closed. Found that interface board would not allow all keypad stroks. Replaced U5, U11, and U12. board tested good. 9/2/08 2 hours DK e-mailed repair quote 9/9/08 DK Recieved PO 11/5/08 DK Repaired, and refurbished feeder with parts listed on quote. 11/7/08 DK Prpeared feeder for burn in, and observed for proper operation. 11/7/08 DK Jam occured during burn in. Saw that a ground wire for the power supply was only hanging on to crimp by a strand re-crimp. Found that power supply was a little low 4.8v turned up to 5.08. 11/10/08 DK put feeder in burn in, and observed for proper operation. 11/10/08 DK Feeder passed 24 hour burn in, and a check out. 11/11/08 DK Ship feeder VIA UPS ground. 11/11/08 DK
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: Found sparks coming from were connection is made to power switch tightened the connections, and the sparking was no longer occurring however the switch would not always cut power to the feeder. Never saw feeder blow a fuse, conclusion is either the feeder had a jam, or the facility had a power surge. The keypad, and product sensor are not as sensitive as they should be recommend that they be replaced. This feeder is in need of refurbishing using the rest of the items listed on the quote. Repair quote does not reflect final charges for service of this unit. Other problems either mechanical or electrical may arise during the RMA process. This quote does not reflect shipping charges, shipping material or box. All items will be shipped via UPS ground unless otherwise specified on purchase order. * A hard copy purchase order that agrees to repair quote charges is required before work can continue.
