What Arrived: When feeder is powered up, and smoke is comeing from electrical side. (Machine Serial Number:0425-07111) Scott says that the feeder is not faulting on a bad read. Tried trouble shooting over the phone with no success. Scott has decided to send the unit back for evaluation. A video will be necessary this time to stop the unit from boomeranging. 8/12/08
Description of Problem: MFT 350 int XED SN 0425-07111 (4) 30mm plum r feed belts (4) 30mm plum stripper wheels (8) 20mm plum discharge belts (1) s shaped support curve (1) pair of mag side guides (2) product rods (1) mount for bar code reader (1) keyance bar coode reader w/ control box, network cable, and power cable (1) low product sensor (1) signal light (1) e/r pair box is reuseable. 8/22/08 DK
Work Done: Found that inputs and outputs had been swapped on bread board that isolates the solenoid board from the Keyence control box. Replace all components that were damaged. 6/30/08 1 hour DK Found that customer did some re wiring in the cable that connects the Keyence control box. E-mailed Greg for proper wiring diagram. 6/30/08 .25 hours DK Found that E/R pair had failed, and replaced it. 6/30/08 .25 hours DK Updated software.gob file. 7/1/08 .25 hours DK Wired cable correctly, and tested feeder with Keyence barcode system. It passed. 7/16/08 .5 hours DK Determined that software chip was not allowing feeder to accept a start pulse from j1. Replaced software ship with a new one, and put non default settings in feeder that were printed out during writing software.gob file. 7/16/08 1 hour DK Prepared repair quote and faxed to customer. 7/16/08 .25 hours DK Put feeder in to 24 hour burn in, and observed for proper operation. 7/16/08 Feeder passed burn in. 7/17/08 DK Revieved PO. 7/22/08 DK Feeder passed check out. (all out puts from J1 tested good) 7/22/08 DK Ship UPS ground under out account#. 7/22/08 DK
Repair Quotation Notes: Completed By: Found that inputs and outputs were switched on bread board causing the components on said boar to short as well as other on the I/O board. Found that product sensor had failed, and that software ship was not allowing the feeder to accept a start pulse through the J1 connector. After components listed on repair quote feeder, and Keyence barcode system were fully tested. Unit is now fully functional. Repair quote does not reflect final charges for service of this unit. Other problems either mechanical or electrical may arise during the RMA process. This quote does not reflect shipping charges, shipping material or box. All items will be shipped via UPS ground unless otherwise specified on purchase order. * A hard copy purchase order that agrees to repair quote charges is required before work can continue.
