Project Scope: This proposal consists of a Multifeeder Technology MFT 250 V3 XED Signature Series Friction Feeder system to feed circular cards into bowls traveling on your existing inclined Dorner Conveyor at a rate of up to 90 per minute. The MFT 250 Friction feeder will gently separate your products from a vertical stack and will transported them individually onto the 375mm (14.76") long discharge of the feeder. A Pneumatic Shaker will be mounted onto the rear support assembly of the feeder to assist with product flow. The feeder will be straddle mounted over the conveyor (38-1/4" wide) by the customer utilizing an Multifeeder supplied Adjustable Mounting Frame. The feeder will be signaled to feed a card into a bowl perpendicular to flow by a Photo Optic Start Sensor Assembly. Options: The feeder can be equipped with EZ Tipping with encoder as an option consisting of an encoder with wheel mounted on your base machine to monitor its speed. As the speed of the base machine changes, the computer timing compensation package will vary the speed and timing of the feeder to ensure that the tip on insert is placed accurately regardless of the speed of the base machine. This proposal assumes that the customer will mount, install, and integrate the feeder with your existing conveyor. Other options Available: The MFT 250 V3 can be configured with Batch Count Mode and/or Multiple Product Detection (Double Detection) as an option. Other options include a Spare Parts Kit, a Low Product Detect Sensor Assembly, and standard feeder installation.

I didn’t trust that old conveyor to hold up a straddle-mounted feeder, so I just used the 550 demo unit with the SLD discharge to hang it over the conveyor inline. I was running the feeder in Accutipping Speed Match with the conveyor running at 10mpm. I was trying to place the bowls at 3/meter to hit the 30ppm requirement, but the rates probably fluctuated quite a bit during running because I was hand placing. Either way, there’s no concerns with speed here, we could go much faster if necessary. No special setup other than running in Accutipping, the only thing to note is that the products were not compatible with double detect. Please let me know if you have any questions!
