Project Scope: The proposed system consists of a demo model Multifeeder Technology MFT 350 IP3 ED Industrial Performance Friction Feeder system (SN 1542-09313) to tip paper wrapped tea bags onto base products traveling on a folder gluer machine at a rate of up to 250 per minute. The feeder is capable of tipping a single paper wrapped tea bag or up to three wrapped tea bags onto a single carrier utilizing the multiple tip function of the feeder. The MFT 350 feeder will gently separate your products from a vertical stack of the in feed hopper of the feeder and will transfer them individually onto the 200mm (7.87") long discharge of the feeder. A Pneumatic Shaker will be mounted onto the Rear Support Assembly of the feeder to assist with product flow. The folder gluer will feed a base product, a glue machine shall apply glue to the base product, and the MFT 350 IP3 ED Friction Feeder will be signaled to feed a product onto the spot glued surface of the product traveling below by a Photo Optic Start Sensor Assembly. The MFT 350 IP will feed the tip on product into the pinch point of a top belt assembly on the folder gluer machine to assure a positive transfer from the feeder onto the base product traveling below. The feeder will be configured with Continuous Motion Accutipping consisting of an encoder with wheel mounted on your base machine to monitor its speed. As the speed of the base machine changes, the computer timing compensation package will vary the speed and timing of the feeder to ensure that the tip on insert is placed accurately regardless of the speed of the base machine. This proposal assumes that the customer will mount, install, and integrate the feeder with the folder gluer machine. Multifeeder can provide mounting, installation, and integration services as an option at our standard rates.
