Project Scope: This proposal if for (2) systems. Each system will consist of a MFT IP 250XED Industrial Performance Friction Feeder which will separate and feed your base product from a stack in the in feed hopper of the feeder. As the products exit the discharge of the feeder it will be placed onto the VTC 2000-550 (2 meter long) Vacuum Track Conveyor. Meanwhile, upstream the MFT IP 250SLD Industrial Performance Friction Feeder will be separating and feeding cards from a stack in the in feed hopper of the feeder. As the cards are fed the barcode of the card will be scanned with a barcode reader as it travels through the driven discharge. This barcode will be used to lookup the print for that record. The print will then be printed onto the corresponding base product. After the base product has been printed hot melt glue will be applied. The glued product will then travel beneath the MFT IP 250SLD Industrial Performance Friction Feeder where the card will be tipped onto the base product. Two barcode readers will then be used to scan the base product and the tip on product to ensure they match. If the barcodes do not match the system will stop on error. Good products will then be accumulated on the shingling conveyor. If the print is placed under where the card will be tipped final inspection will not be done, as the barcode on the base will be covered up. The DPI of the printer will be set to 80 X 80 DPI. The system will have the ability to display, on the main screen, how many records are remaining in the data-file. The cards can be presented to the system in any random order, however, the barcodes listed in the data-file will need to be in Alpha/Numerical order. Stack Light Operation: Red - Fault, not running Yellow - Low Product Green - Ready condition, running The system will be run onsite for (2) 8 hour runs which will match one of the run offs from Multifeeder's factory.
Notes: Premium Ideas W.O. 2018189 5/23: Received sign off and Greg and Bernie coming home tomorrow. 5/16: Bernie and Greg are on site. Going pretty well. Clients pushing to run into production. 4/25: At request of client, Install being moved back to May 9th - 23rd. 4/18: David Kelley and EE are working on gathering all necessary items for the spare parts list. 4/11: Spare parts list was approved. In David's hands and he will take care of everything except additional PLC controller. EE will work on that. Freight delivered on 4/9. 4/4: Jim sent spare parts list to Rudi yesterday. Waiting for response. 3/29/19 Back Ordered Spare Parts List 3/28: Shipping today or tomorrow to AIT. 3/21: FAT went well. Very small punch list. Rudi had one question and then they will send payment. Goal to finish punch list this week and have ready for pick up end of day on Tuesday. 3/14: Making great progress on machine. Very close on line 1. Great progress on line 2. Clay requested additional samples this morning. 3/7: Rudi from Premium Ideas has confirmed to be here 3/18-3/20 for FAT. 2/28: Integration back on these machines. FAT still targeted for 3/18. No concerns 2/21: Electrical working on this. Integration paused for other projects. Steve will be back on this machine on Monday. FAT week of 3/18 as a target. 2/14: In Integration. 2/7: Integration is working on it. Label Innovations is priority which has caused work to slow this week. Client still owes samples for 3 of 5 sizes. Will determine FAT timing after samples arrive. Need confirmed ship to address. 1/31: Out of production. Steve and Hunter are starting work on machine. Need to order a few parts for transfer rollers as well as glue for system. Need to confirm what we used in the past. 1/24: Second of two VTCs should be to integration no later than end of day Friday. Integration started work on 1st VTC/feeders. Good progress and communication between production and Integration. No word from customer on data files and additional samples. 1/17: Production is continuing to work on VTCs, Feeders are complete. Integration is beginning feeder setup. Once Tony is finished with first VTC he will pause and move to Label Innovations until it is finished. 1/10: In production. Incorrect VTC frames should be back today. FAT date range of 2/10 - 3/10 1/3: Been pulled and in production. 12/20: No change. Waiting for parts. 12/13: All parts for SC drive are on order. EE has all long lead time items on order. Waiting for parts to arrive. 12/6: Quoting parts for SC drive. 12/03/2018 SC P/N 9212601 is complete in engineering. 11/29: Glue system and PLC has been ordered. Print components ordered today. Everything else out for quotes and being ordered. 11/15: Everything out for quotes. Waiting to hear back. 11/8: Received sign off on provided layout drawing. Received confirmation that CE compliance of individual components is fine. Working towards CE motor for shingling conveyor. Parts are being quoted. 11/1: Had kick off. Engineering finishing final revisions to layout drawing. Need clarification on if CE compliance is necessary ASAP. 10/25: Need to schedule kick off.
Work Done: 5/9-5/10 Travel to South Africa with Greg B. 24.5hrs travel Bernie 5/12 Arrived onsite, met with maint. personal. As I was finishing up connecting up lines Greg was talking the electrical people to make sure the incoming power was correct. As it turned out they thought the power was to 220vac on each phase to ground and we need 110vac on each phase to ground. Premium is going to have a transformer installed tomorrow morning. 4hrs onsite Bernie and Greg 5/13 Arrived on site in afternoon due to no transformer, upon arrival still no transformer. It arrived a couple hours later, once electricians got it hooked up the output voltage was still not correct They got it corrected and all was good to start up lines. Both lines had all functions working. Greg was doing training on PLC and print system while I set up other line to run the small product. Got line to run and tip at speed (without glue). After running tests the tipping feeder belts walked off pulleys, after getting belts back in place it was noticed that when P.I. purged the glue they moved the heads and after putting the heads back they had not realized that one of the glue head electrical lines were pushing on tipping feeder belts causing the belts to walk off pulleys. 8hrs onsite Bernie and Geg 5/14 Upon arrival Greg and I were asked how long it would take to get line up and running production, tried to explain that no training had been done, they insisted that it run production and training would take place on line one. After getting up and running Greg helped out and I went to line one to train. They wanted to set up and run the same as line two then change over to next product once set up they said they had to run production on that product to full fill machines down line. At end of day Greg found a glitch in program, stayed after to fix. 10hrs onsite Bernie and Greg 5/15 Line two was not running so Greg updated PLC and tested then upgraded line one. Line two was not running and there was a lot of confusion as what was supposed to happen with line one (run or train). Once sorted out line two went back into production and line two decided that production from yesterday had to finish. After finishing we changed over to third product after that we had to wait for database and printer layout to be loaded so they could run production on third product. Got line two to run small products at 13,300pph and line one to run large (yellow) to run 7600pph. 8hrs onsite Bernie and Greg 5/16 Line two running production, line one changing over to booklets. Greg and I supported the change over and got booklets to run at 8000pph. Also helped get line two to run small MTN at 15300pph. PI continued to do change overs through out the day with minimal support. 8hrs onsite Bernie and Greg 5/17 Production support on line two and change over support on line one. 9hrs onsite Bernie and Greg 5/19 Greg scratched multiple times by ferocious lion, he's fine. Bernie suffered puncher wounds in right arm by aggressive evil lioness trying to save Greg. 0hrs onsite Bernie and Greg 5/20 Both lines running production in am. Line two was switched over to run wide Vodacom, all worked great, other than sim barcode position was different than the samples that were provided to MFT for testing so they switched back to mini MTN. Onsite all day for support. 8hrs onsite Bernie & Greg 5/21 On site for production support, PI has taken owernship of both lines as well as signed off on PI supplied acceptance list. 8.5hrs onsite Bernie and Greg 5/22 Greg installed password protection on both lines as well as spare PLC. Backed up all control boxes. Trained Lucas (maint) on how to change vacuum feed belt change. PI is requesting a preventive maintenance schedule. Production support. 8hrs onsite Bernie and Greg 5/23 Production support as well as certain tricks to help maint and operators 8hrs onsite 11hrs travel Bernie and Greg 5/24 14.5hrs travel Bernie and Greg
