Project Scope: Derived from Multifeeder's label applicator systems are components that include; a powered unwind will unwind your roll of pattern pressure sensitive glue lined backer. The pressure sensitive glue lined backer will be presented to a dual stage 1300 Sheet Feeder to apply your 20mm x 40mm paper sheets. The system will be capable of feeding these in portrait manner. A driven pinch roller assembly will adhere the paper sheets to the glue line web with a +/- 0.5mm, at speeds of up to 45 meters per minute. These paper products will be applied with a 6mm gap between each. Performance contingent on good quality products, flat, consistent, free of damage. Product size variance to be subtracted from overall accuracy results. Equipment must be used in accordance with applicable operating and maintenance manuals by trained personnel. Installation purchase will be on a separate purchase order if needed. Samples guaranteed only if provided prior to initiation of order or if approved in writing by Multifeeder project management. After applying the sheets to the web, a camera system will read each code, and record in a database the list of 2D/CR Codes. The glue lined web with sheet attached, will be rewound into a finished roll. The finished rolls will be generated with a 6mm gap between products. The 1300 Sheet Feeder system will consist of an HCP 350 Industrial Friction Feeder with Small Product Kit and a Driven Discharge 420-350 with Small Product Kit. An Automatic Product Loading (APL) system, will accommodate pre-loading of the tax stamps in a protrait mode. The 80/20 composite or welded and powder coated steel sub-frame base provides support of a second welded frame dual-stage drive system. Linear slides, crank handles and Siko counters will ensure ease of setup and repeatability. Additional lateral slides with adjustment crank are also included to move the whole feeder/driven discharge side-to-side to adjust for web slitting/glue location variance. This system incorporates a Keyence camera system with Remote Diagnostic and Analysis capacity. Installation and training would be quoted and purchased separately if needed. we have added additional items per feedback of first system, including: 1. Add a Keyence Counter unit: Sensor to be located very close to finished roll. In proposal 2. Upgraded Lateral adjustment system – similar to the main adjustment/positioning ratchet system on the feeder. In proposal 3. Feeder speed - 45meters/minute. In proposal 4. Upgraded web tension control – present roller dancer units have a narrow range and too much bounce. We will change from spring to air cylinder adjustment for tension. In proposal 5. Electric stamp vibrator – move away from air vibrator unit on feeder stamp stack. We will use an electric vibrator instead of air vibrator. In proposal. 6. Larger diameter adhesive roll capability (18” or 19”). We are adding gearboxes to the unwind/rewind to solve the inertia mismatch. In proposal. 7. Finished roll rewind capabilities to produce 10,000 part rolls ( tuning requirements of the drive). We are adding gearboxes to unwind/rewind to solve the inertia mismatch. In proposal. 8. Self-wound adhesive – reduction of the top liner upwind shaft. We have removed one rewind unit from proposal. In proposal 9. Clear Stripper wheel ( Softest durometer). In proposal. 10. Improved response to missing adhesive. (At present run speeds 40 -47mpm, if missing adhesive comes through the feeder can’t stop and start fast enough). We will work on this, however we are not positive we can tune the system for both accuracy at speed running, stability at speed running, and able to stop for missing glue. If possible we will resolve this, however we cannot guarantee it is possible. 11. Tesa Tape covered rollers. Include some web guides on these rollers. In proposal. 12. HMI Operator Touch screen. Not Included. 13. Height of the APL should be to where we have ours now with the modifications we made in house. In proposal. 14. Web hold down device - to hold the web in place while removing the finished roll and replacing with new core. In proposal. 15. FAT 4hours run with recorded output. In proposal. The expected output of 20,000 stamps per hour making rolls of 5,000 stamps assuming good quality stamps and glue on liner. Produce a minimum of 80,000 stamps in 4 hour FAT for rolls of 5,000. Expect a minimum of 5 rolls of product without feeder stoppage assuming good quality product. 16. All modification improvements done to first system including stamp stack cage, APL increased height, roller modifications.
Notes: Label Innovations WO 2018198 2/21: Did not get sign off on FAT last week. Client sent some (tighter wound) 19 inch sample rolls. Just arrived this morning. Additional testing needed on rolls and then coordinate return trip from Label Innovations - possibly early next week. 2/14: Here for FAT today. Need payment prior to shipping. 2/7: CSA pushed back to 2/11. Inspector out with flu. FAT is scheduled for next Wednesday, 2/13 1/31: Should be to Integration no later than end of day Friday. CSA testing scheduled for 2/8. FAT loosely planned for 2/13. 1/24: Waiting on a few parts for feeder and driven discharge that are due this week. Tony will shift from Premium Ideas to driven discharges on Monday. 1/17: Erik is working in Production building the unwind/rewind equipment. Tony will assist when done with VTC on Premium Ideas. Steph to start feeder today after Norka. 1/10: Confirmation from Daryl that they are working on getting us samples no later than 1/25. Production working on machine. Number of parts going through shop. Some new parts need to be ordered. 1/3: Clay to send an email to Daryl today with requested samples. 12/20: No change. 12/13: No change. Some parts have arrived. 12/6: No change 11/29: Everything on order. Waiting for parts. 11/15: Had a kick off. Will schedule a second review early next week. Approved layout this morning. 11/8: Need workorder. Similar to Canadian Bank Note. Will kick off after.
