Project Scope: The proposed system consists of a Multifeeder Technology MFT 250 Friction Feeder system to feed folded Pharmaceutical Inserts and other products up to 200mm (7.87") wide onto a Bobst Folder Gluer machine at a rate of up to 500 per minute with a tolerance of +/-1/8” (for speeds up to 80mpm). The MFT 250 feeder will gently separate your products from a vertical stack of the in feed hopper of the feeder and will transport them individually onto the a 75mm wide SLD open frame discharge (can feed products wider than the width of the discharge) to best fit between the carrier belts on the Bobst. The Bobst Machine will feed a base sheet and the MFT 250 IP HCP SLD Friction Feeder will be signaled to feed a product into the pinch point of a Bobst top belt assembly by a Tipping Photo Optic Start Sensor Assembly. The feeder will be equipped with a Vacuum Track Assembly each consisting of a vacuum chamber and a feed belt with holes that travels over the chamber to allow the feeder to best grip the products as they are fed. The MFT 250 IP3 will be mounted onto a Multifeeder supplied Heavy Duty Cantilever Stand on Rollers to allow the system to be moved in and out of the Bobst machine. The Folder Gluer machine will feed a base product, a glue machine shall apply glue to the base sheet, and the MFT 250 IP3 SLD Friction Feeder will be signaled to feed a product into the pinch point of a customer supplied top belt assembly on the Folder Gluer machine by a Photo Optic Start Sensor. The MFT 250 will be configured with Hard Carcass Discharge Belts, Precise Seiko Counter Height Adjustment knobs, Adjustable Discharge Side Guides with extension, and a Hard Carcass Nose Roller Assembly to allow the end of the discharge to be placed close to the product traveling below. An APL 2000-190 Automatic Product Loader (2000mm x 190mm) will configured at 90 degrees with respect to flow (over mechanical side of the feeder). Looking at the back of the feeder the loader will be positioned to the left. The feeder will be configured with Continuous Motion Accutipping controls consisting of an encoder with wheel mounted on your base machine to monitor its speed. The computer timing compensation package will vary the speed and timing of the feeder to ensure that the insert is placed accurately on the spot glued surface regardless of the speed of the base machine. An Electronic Interface Box will be used to signal the folder gluer machine to stop if the feeder runs empty or has a fault. This proposal assumes that the customer will mount, install and integrate the feeder with the Bobst. As an option, Multifeeder can provide mounting, installation, and integration services at our standard rates. Options Available: An optional Multifeeder supplied Nordson Hot Melt Glue system with can be purchased to apply glue to the carrier product prior to the insert being applied. The glue system proposed includes a Photo Optic Start Sensor, a glue tank, two hoses with glue nozzles, and a pattern controller. An optional Remote Keypad Assembly can be used to control each feeder system remotely. Other options include a Spare Parts Kit, a Low Product Detect Sensor Assembly, and Standard Feeder installation.

Engineering is continuing. 1/25: Have engineering samples and Bobst folder gluer info from client. ME can proceed with layout. Kickoff scheduled for 1/26. 1/18: Still waiting for info from client on Bobst equipment. 1/11: Still waiting for information from client. ME will proceed with what they can. Client knows they are on hold until they provide info. 1/5: Waiting for info from client before we can kick off. Trying to get drawings with measurements.
