Project Scope: The proposal is to add a Multifeeder Industrial Performance labeling system to your existing Multifeeder Industrial Performance tipping system. Sequence of operation of existing system: The proposed system consists of a Multifeeder Industrial Performance tipping system to insert a folded leaflet inside a folded leaflet at a rate of up to 200 per minute with an accuracy of +/- 1/8". An MFT 250 IP XED Industrial Performance Friction Feeder will feed the folded inserts one at a time onto a VTC 2000-550 Vacuum Track Conveyor (2000mm long and 550 mm wide) with consistent repeat. The folded insert will travel on the conveyor over a small opening ramp and will be held down by a top hold down assembly to curl open the folded leaflet. A small air jet will insert a small amount of air into the leaflet to help open the leaflet. The leaflet will be plow folded open. Next a second MFT 250 IP XED Friction feeder will be Straddle Mounted over the conveyor to feed a folded leaflet onto the open leaflet traveling below. The MFT 250 feeder will be configured with Continuous Motion Accutipping consisting of an encoder mounted to the line and software and hardware to vary the speed and timing of the feeder to be certain that the card is placed accurately regardless of the speed of the base machine. Next an inline folding device will plow fold shut the leaflet to create a leaflet inside of a leaflet. The completed products can be transferred onto an optional SC 2000-350 Shingling Conveyor (2000mm x 350mm) for further processing. Mechanical Engineering will create a conceptual system drawing for customer approval. System Integration includes a Factory Acceptance Test to verify system performance before shipment. System Integration and testing includes testing of all individual pieces to perform as one complete system. Integration also includes testing of the feeding performance of each product size at the rate specified. A detailed set up video will be created showing step by step how to set up and operate the equipment with each of the different samples provided at the rates specified prior to shipment. Upgraded system sequence of operation: Your existing MFT 250 IP XED Industrial Performance Friction Feeder will gently separate your folded leaflets from a vertical stack of the in feed hopper of the feeder. As the products up to 200mm (7.87") wide are fed, they will be transported individually through the 375mm (14.76") long discharge of the feeder and will be fed one at a time onto a VTC 2000-550 Vacuum Track Conveyor (2000mm long and 550 mm wide) with consistent repeat. Existing Left and Right Funnel Side Guides will be used to register the products as they are transferred from the feeder onto the vacuum conveyor. Next a Multifeeder Technology MFT HS 101 High Speed Labeling Machine with powered rewind will be straddle mounted over the conveyor to apply a label to the insert as it travels on the transport. A Roll of labels is loaded on the powered unwind assembly. The unwind assembly gently unwinds the roll of labels to stage them to be applied. The labeler is equipped with brushless servo motor with computer control to accurately place the labels onto the products traveling below +/- 1/16". The Labeler will be signaled to label by a Photo Optic Start Sensor Assembly. A powered rewind is used to rewind the liner from the labels once complete. The labeler will be configured with Continuous Motion Accutipping consisting of an encoder with wheel mounted on your base machine to monitor the speed of the base machine. As the speed of the base machine changes, the computer timing compensation package will vary the speed and timing of the labeler to ensure that the label is placed accurately regardless of the speed of the base machine. A Relay Interface Box will be used to signal the system to stop if the labeler runs empty or has a fault. The completed products will be transferred into the pinch Point of an existing Pressure Roller Assembly on a SC 2000-350 Shingling Conveyor (2000mm x 350mm) for further processing. Mechanical Engineering will create a system drawing for customer approval. System Integration includes a Factory Acceptance Test to verify system performance before shipment. System Integration and testing includes testing of all individual pieces to perform as one complete system. Integration also includes testing of the feeding performance of each product size at the rate specified. A detailed set up video will be created showing step by step how to set up and operate the equipment with each of the different samples provided at the rates specified prior to shipment.
