Project Scope: The proposed system consists of a Multifeeder Technology MFT 550 Industrial Performance “IP” XLD Friction Feeder to backer cards up to 500mm wide onto base products traveling on a Bobst Folder Gluer machine. The MFT 550 feeder will gently separate your products from a vertical stack of the in feed hopper of the feeder. As the products are fed, they will be transported individually through the 550mm wide (21.65") 600mm (23.64") long discharge of the feeder. Dual Vacuum Track Assemblies each consisting of a vacuum chamber and a feed belt with holes that travels over the chamber will be used to allow the feeder to best grip the products as they are fed (customer supplied vacuum source). The feeder will be mounted onto an adjustable mounting frame to allow the position of the feeder to be adjusted in the x, y, and z directions on the Folder Gluer. The Folder Gluer machine will feed a base product, a glue machine shall apply glue to the base sheet, and the MFT 550 IP XLD Friction Feeder will be signaled to feed a product into the pinch point of a customer supplied top belt assembly on the Folder Gluer machine by a Photo Optic Start Sensor. The MFT 550 will be configured with Hard Carcass Discharge Belts, Precise Seiko Counter Height Adjustment knobs, Adjustable Discharge Side Guides with extension, and a Hard Carcass Nose Roller Assembly to allow the discharge to be placed close to the to product traveling below. The feeder will be configured with Continuous Motion Accutipping consisting of an encoder with wheel mounted on your base machine to monitor its speed. As the speed of the base machine changes, the computer timing compensation package will vary the speed and timing of the feeder to ensure that the insert is placed accurately regardless of the speed of the base machine. This proposal assumes that customer will mount, install, and integrate the feeder with the Folder Gluer machine. Multifeeder can provide mounting, installation, and integration services as an option at our standard rates. Options Available: An optional Electronic Interface Box Assembly can be used to signal the Folder Gluer machine to stop if the feeder runs empty or has a fault. Other options include a Spare Parts Kit, a Low Product Detect Sensor Assembly, and Standard Feeder installation.
