Project Scope: The proposed system consists of a Multifeeder Technology Industrial Performance tipping and folding system to create folded backer cards with a carrier attached at a rate of up to 300 per minute. A Multifeeder Technology MFT 550 Industrial Performance Friction Feeder will be mounted onto a Heavy Duty Stand on Rollers and will gently separate backer cards from a vertical stack of the in feed hopper of the feeder. As the products are fed wide edge leading they are transported individually through the 375mm (14.76") long discharge of the feeder with inside of the finished card face up on the transport. The feeder will transfer the products into the pinch point of a Pressure Roller Assembly onto a VTC 4000-550 Vacuum Track Conveyor (4000mm long and 550 mm wide) with consistent repeat. A set of Left and Right Funnel guides are used to be certain that the products are straight as they are transferred from the feeder onto the vacuum conveyor. After the carrier is securely positioned on the vacuum transport it will be transported under a customer-supplied and integrated Robatech Hot Melt Glue system will apply a single bead of glue in the precise area where the C80 card is to be attached. Next a Multifeeder Technology MFT 350 Industrial Performance Friction feeder will be straddle mounted over the transport. The MFT 350 will feed a CR80 card into the pinch point of a Pressure Roller Assembly to assure proper placement of the card onto the spot glued surface of the backer card. Left and Right Discharge Side Guides will be used to be certain that the cards are straight as they travel on the feeder discharge. The MFT 350 feeder is configured with Continuous Motion Accutipping consisting of an encoder with wheel mounted on the transport to monitor the speed. If the speed of the transport changes, the computer timing compensation package will vary the speed and timing of the feeder to ensure that the insert is placed accurately regardless of the transport velocity. After the card has been applied, an inline folding device will fold the pre-scored carrier cards right to left. The location of the fold assembly and CR80 card feeder can be reversed to allow the card to be placed inside the carrier or outside the carrier. The completed products can be then transferred onto an optional SC 2000-350 Shingling Conveyor (2000mm x 350mm) perpendicular to flow for further processing. The system will be configured to stop on error so if either feeder runs empty or has a fault the conveyor will be signaled to stop. Multifeeder's Engineering team will create a system drawing for customer approval. System Integration includes a Factory Acceptance Test to verify system performance before shipment. System Integration and testing includes testing of all individual pieces to perform as one complete system. Integration also includes testing of the feeding performance of each product size at the rate specified. A detailed set up video will be created showing step by step how to set up and operate the equipment with each of the different samples provided at the rates specified prior to shipment. A show discount is included for an order placed on or before January 31st, 2014. Options available: An optional Bump and Turn can be used to bump and turn products 90 degrees as they travel on the conveyor. An optional Powered Discharge Turn Over section can be added to transfer to the end of the conveyor to transfer and turn over the products as they are transferred from the conveyor onto the shingling conveyor.
