Project Scope: The proposed system consists of a Multifeeder Technology HS 100 High Speed Labeling Machine with blow box tamp applicator to label products as they travel on a Heidelberg Folder Gluer at a rate of up to 500 per minute. This proposal is contingent upon a successful test of a roll of sample labels and products to be labeled and a confirmation of project details. For the 50mm x 50mm label samples provided, an estimated speed of 300 per minute with an accuracy of +/- 1/8" has been provided to the customer. Products will travel on your existing Heidelberg Folder Gluer machine at a rate of up to 500 per minute. The Multifeeder Technology HS 100 High Speed Labeling Machine will be mounted over the Heidelberg and will transfer a label onto a Blow Box Tamp Applicator. The label will be held onto the blow box surface by a small amount of vacuum. A Photo Optic Start Sensor will detect the product traveling below and activate the Blow Box to transfer the label from the box onto the product traveling below. Next the labeler will transfer another label onto the blow box. The Labeler will be equipped with Timing Compensation consisting of an encoder with wheel mounted on your base machine to monitor the speed of the base machine. As the speed of the base machine changes, the computer timing compensation package will vary the speed and timing of the labeler to ensure that the label is placed accurately regardless of the speed of the base machine. The HS 100 Labeler can be straddle mounted by the customer or can be mounted onto an optional Straddle mounting frame. System Integration and testing includes testing of all individual pieces to perform as one complete system. System Integration also includes testing of the labeling performance of each product size at the rate specified as well as creating a detailed set up video showing step by step how to set up and operate the equipment with each of the different samples provided at the rates specified prior to shipment.
