Project Scope: The proposed system consists of a Multifeeder Technology tipping system to feed a base card up to 500mm (19.68") wide and apply either a magnet label or a double stick tape strip to the backer card at a rate of up to 250 per minute. A Multifeeder Technology MFT 550 XED IP Industrial Performance Friction Feeder system will separate backer cards up to 500mm (19.68") wide onto the feeder discharge. The feeder will present the products onto the vacuum conveyor at a user selected pitch apart using Continuous Motion Accutipping Repeat. The computer timing compensation package of the feeder with encoder will vary the speed and timing of the feeder to ensure the products are placed at the correct pitch regardless of the speed of the base conveyor. A Multifeeder Technology HS 100 High Speed Labeling Machine will apply a Magnetic Label onto the backer card as it travels below. The Labeler will be signaled to apply a Magnetic Label onto the card traveling below by a Photo Optic Start Sensor Assembly. The MFT 550 will be equipped with MFT Glue control to activate a Straub T-626-1 Tape Applicator to apply double stick tape to the products as they travel on the feeder discharge. The feeder glue control will control the timing and length of the tape placement. The tape application will require 80 PSI 2-5 cfm of clean dry air. The vacuum conveyor 550mm (22” wide) and 2m (6.6ft) long will be equipped with vacuum belts that run over vacuum chambers that guide the belt side to side that are approximately 1.67m long (65”). Each vacuum chamber track has two vacuum flow controls (one for front half and one for back half). The complete tracks with belts are mounted onto extruded aluminum rails to allow the entire track to be adjusted side to side. A vacuum pump will be used that is an oil-free, contactless, regenerative blower capable of 221 cfm (at atmosphere), and a maximum vacuum capability of 85 in H2O. This vacuum blower is equipped with a 2.55kW, 3 phase, TEFC motor suitable for use on 200-275/380-480volt, 50/60Hz, 3450 rpm electrical service that uses an Integral silencer. The system will be equipped with three E-Stop Switches to stop the Vacuum Conveyor only. The completed products will be transferred onto an SC 2000-550 Shingling Conveyor for further processing. System Integration and testing includes testing of all individual pieces to perform as one complete system. System Integration also includes testing of the feeding performance of each product size at the rate specified as well as creating a detailed set up video showing step by step how to set up and operate the equipment with each of the different samples provided at the rates specified prior to shipment. Options available: The feeder can be equipped with optional Dual Vacuum Tracks consisting of a Vacuum Chamber and feed belts with holes that travel over the chambers to help the feeder best grip the products as they are fed. Other options include a spare parts kit, a Low Product Detect Sensor Assembly, and standard feeder installation.
